Academy Trust Embraces AI: CyberFirst Session Inspires Educators

Teachers strengthen their understanding of artificial intelligence in the curriculum.
This month our CyberFirst Ambassadors continued to work across Yorkshire and Humber by supporting schools in building a clearer understanding of how AI is shaping the digital world. One Academy Trust recently took part in an engaging session led by Dave Morgan from Microsoft, focused on embedding artificial intelligence (AI) and giving educators a clearer picture of current industry practice. The session formed part of the wider CyberFirst programme’s ongoing commitment to helping schools prepare students for a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Dave described the session as “a pleasure,” adding, “The goal was to help the academy to build confidence when interacting with students around AI and to shape future classroom activities ensuring they remain relevant in this emerging, transformative technology.”

The impact was felt straight away. All teachers shared positive reflections, noting that the session had broadened their awareness of how AI is being used beyond the classroom. As one member of the Academy Trust put it: “Dave did a fantastically thought‑provoking presentation which filled in our knowledge gaps and gave us a real context on where the ‘real world’ is at with AI. We’ve already had lots of quality discussion. We’re now looking at sharing ideas, resources and collaborating across the trust to try to incorporate more content which will prepare our students to utilise AI effectively in the future.”

Initiatives like this continue to strengthen the connection between education and industry, helping teachers stay aligned with real‑world developments and making sure students gain the skills they’ll need to thrive in an AI‑driven future. We are looking forward to building on this momentum as the year progresses.
