Cameron Patterson - Ambassador Spotlight

Cameron is a CyberFirst volunteer and STEM Ambassador based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, and is keen to inspire and develop current and future tech talent. 

With a diverse background spanning telecommunication, fintech, and advanced AI research (including a PhD on the SpiNNaker platform), he has held roles in both leadership and technical contribution.

Cameron brings a wealth of experience in networking, IT infrastructure, and cyber security and has applied this to consultancies with customers, system integrators and in research and development.

He holds a particular interest in quantum resistant cryptography and the challenges and timescales of its practical rollout, as well as the applicability of quantum computing and AI to the field.

Most recently, his work at Schneider Electric has focused on cutting-edge cybersecurity R&D, developing platforms, services and testing next-generation devices for operational technology uses in critical infrastructure.

Cameron is passionate about coaching and mentoring, aiming to inspire young professionals and guide them towards fulfilling STEM careers, especially within cybersecurity.
