CyberFirst Yorkshire at GUTS 2025

CyberFirst Yorkshire had the exciting opportunity to attend and showcase at GUTS (Get Up To Speed) 2025, the event was held at the Magna Science Centre in Rotherham. With over 4,000 students in attendance, this year proved to be significant in both student engagement and industry partnerships. The atmosphere was amazing, as students from all across the region gathered to explore a wide variety of technologies and career opportunities.
One of the highlights for CyberFirst Yorkshire was our chance to debut our new incident response program. As the world becomes more digitally connected, the need for well-trained cybersecurity professionals is greater than ever and our incident response demonstration at GUTS allowed us to showcase how we’re preparing students to handle real-world cyber threats.
CyberFirst's Incident Response, gave students a hands-on experience of what it’s like to be on the front lines of cybersecurity. Through interactive challenges, students learned insights into the tools and strategies that cybersecurity professionals use in the field, with the goal of inspiring young minds to consider a career in this vital industry.
The response from students was incredibly positive proving events like GUTS provide the perfect platform to spark curiosity and encourage exploration. As we reflect on our time at GUTS, we’re excited about the future of CyberFirst Yorkshire and the role we can play in shaping the next generation of cybersecurity professionals. With the support of events like these, we’re confident that we’re on the right path to empowering students with the skills they need to secure the digital world of tomorrow.
